Born in the UK, I started my career by training with a BTEC Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at The University of Northampton (formally Nene college), followed by a B.A. (Hons) degree in Theatre Designer at Wimbledon School of Art, London, graduating 2002. Like many new people wanting to get ahead in the Film and Television industry, I worked on a number of short films which included the award winning ‘Flipped’ written by Phil Trail and featured Jason Flemyng and ‘Gas’ featuring Spandau Ballet’s, Tony Hadley which was based on an original story written by Alfred Hitchcock in 1919 and had never previously been brought to the screen before. I also had the fortune to work on two feature length dramas and work alongside Chris Jones, Director and author of The Guerrilla Film Makers Handbook’s, all within a few years of graduating. In 2005, I began working with Joseph Manser, and began what I now consider my professional career in the industry. Alongside Jo, I have worked on a varied portfolio of historical docudramas and reality programmes for both UK and international Broadcasters. These include the critically acclaimed ‘A Very British Sex Scandal’ for Channel 4. ‘Saving Reagan’ for Discovery Channel, and more recently ‘Revealed: Britain’s Nazi King’ for Channel 5, and ‘Electric Dreams’ for BBC Four, now in its second series for 2010. 2007 introduced me to working abroad and working with different designers. ‘The Story Of_’, filmed in Budapest, designed by Caroline Story and shot by first time Director Adam Abadi, was another adventure to add to my catalogue of experiences. This was followed by working with the Scandanavian designer, Erika Okvist on ‘True Stories’ and ‘Special Forces Heroes’ both series for Channel 5, and ‘Crimes That Shook The World 2’ the blood and guts, series about serial killer’s, for Discovery Channel. 2008, alongside two partners, I set up Variety Productions ltd, a production company, writing formats for television shows, we hope to have our first commission very soon. 2009 saw a dramatic move to working in Wales, Art directing ‘The Mystery Files’ a thirteen episode series for National Geographic, which was swiftly followed by a move to Cardiff to work on ‘Pen Talar’, a nine episode, Welsh drama series for S4C, with designer Eryl Ellis. I am currently living in Cardiff, and working on the second series of ‘Electric Dreams’ with Joseph Manser. 2010 has also seen my first venture into writing a children’s book and revitalizing my passion for singing jazz.
